Fiscal Year-End Campaign
Help us raise $100,000 for critical home repair!

“Disability is not an easy way to make a living… We had problems with the electrical for a long time… I was thinking ‘is there any way we can get help with any of this?'”
– Mrs. B, a long-time Albemarle resident
Keep our community strong by helping us keep its members Safe at Home
A home should be a refuge, a place that provides shelter and safety. Too many of our neighbors still struggle to stay healthy, pay their bills, and stay housed. Our collective focus on the importance of refuge gives AHIP’s work greater urgency. Everyone should be safe at home.
And because of your support and our team’s commitment to both service and safety, we were able to show up for 226 neighbors in need last year. Together as a community of partners, volunteers, and contributors, we completed 156 emergency repairs, home rehabs, and energy upgrades for 97 households in Charlottesville and Albemarle County.
But there are still obstacles to overcome: with a persistent shortage of affordable housing, home repair is a vital but often invisible component of protecting under-resourced individuals and families, preserving their health and wealth, and pushing back against gentrification and displacement. We hope that you’ll join us again this year to work toward housing security and a place of refuge for all our neighbors.
If you would like to donate today to help your neighbors in need, you can give either a one time gift or a recurring contribution. Both are greatly appreciated, but we hope you’ll consider becoming a sustaining donor. Ongoing support means we can help more individuals and families more quickly, today and always.
Your gift makes all the difference. Thank you!
